Commitment to Couples

McCrite's has made a significant commitment to make sure that couples that come to their retirement community can stay together.  The marriage vows, “through sickness and health“ are lived out on a daily basis.  Residential space has been creatively designed to support couples with varying needs of care and support. Our health center has rooms that allow for full care for one spouse while the other is completely independent. Just because one spouse is ill, does not mean that there must be separate living arrangements.

More often than not, just as couples begin to dream about retirement, one of them becomes ill. Suddenly each spouse has vastly different needs. The complete continuum of care at McCrite’s, and their willingness to keep loved ones together, has led to some of the most innovative living arrangements in the area. With the cooperation of personal physicians and family members, our staff will assess physical and psycho-social needs in order to design a creative living arrangement where couples can continue living together while making sure all needs are being met.
